Protecting Human Rights Since 2000

Society for Civil Rights Movement (SCRM) is a non-governmental organization established in 2000 with a mission to promote, protect, and monitor human rights across Bangladesh. Operating a nationwide network spanning all 64 districts, SCRM works with local communities, legal professionals, and international partners.

From rapid response to violations, providing free legal aid, conducting awareness workshops, to publishing detailed research reports — SCRM remains at the forefront of human rights advocacy in Bangladesh.

25 years of human rights advocacy

2000

SCRM Founded

Established in Dhaka with a founding team of 12 human rights lawyers and activists.

2003

64-District Network

Expanded operations to all 64 districts, building local volunteer committees.

2007

Legal Aid Center Launched

Opened free legal aid center providing pro-bono services to 500+ cases annually.

2012

UN Partnership

Became official partner organization with the UN Human Rights Council.

2017

5,000 Members Milestone

Reached 5,000 life members across Bangladesh, with 300+ active programs.

2024

Digital Transformation
